EL3D High Performance 1.75 mm HPLA 3D printing filament is a Polylactic Acid like PLA and is a thermoplastic polymer derived from renewable resources like cornstarch or sugar cane. Plastics that are derived from biomass (e.g. PLA) are known as “bioplastics.” HPLA is a fully biodegradable thermoplastic polymer consisting of renewable raw materials.

Though HPLA is a hard material to find in the market. It is the choice for those who paint their models. This designer product contains a rubberizing agent in the plastic that lessens the prominence of layering lines that are so problematic for painters and also creates a less brittle part.
