Bambulab R1 55W CO2 Laser Cutter

55W CO2. Cuts deeper. Cuts more.
Cut and engrave wood, clear acrylic, leather, and more, with materials up to 20 mm¹ thick in a single pass.

Fast, without losing detail.
Reach speeds up to 1000 mm/s and finish jobs nearly 3× faster, while keeping fine details sharp.

Taller. Rounder. Longer. Thicker.
Add risers for taller pieces, a rotary for round objects, longer-focus lenses for thicker stock, and a conveyor³ for boards up to 3 meters long.

What you mark is what you cut.
Cameras, lasers, and encoders work together to place every cut exactly where you set it.

No manual calibration.
No thermal paper. No test shots. No manual tuning. R1 aligns the optical path automatically — a first for a laser cutter.

Product Features
  • 55W CO2 Laser: Cut and engrave wood, clear acrylic, leather, and more, with materials up to 20 mm thick in a single pass.
  • Large Work Area: 600 × 300 mm, or up to 3000 mm long stock with the Conveyor.
  • Auto Laser Alignment: Hands-free optical path calibration in about a minute. No thermal paper, no test shots.
  • TriSense System: Cameras, lasers and XY encoders combined for positioning accuracy within 0.2 mm.
  • Vibration Compensation: Cancels residual shake after a turn for clean, crisp lines.
  • High-Speed Engraving: Up to 1000 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration.
  • Class 1 Laser Safety: Fully enclosed beam in normal use, with lid-stop, flame detection and emergency stop.
Laser on — board falls. Cut clean in a single pass, leaving the material's natural character intact. Bambu motion control keeps every run precise and consistent. This is Bambu Lab R1. Serious CO₂ laser capability, made easier to work with.

Bring out the best in every material.

Powered by a 55W CO₂ laser, R1 works across a wide range of materials — from wood and acrylic to glass, leather, fabric, and more — each bringing its own character to the piece.

Drop in your workpiece — crooked, curved, or tiny. R1 locates it, reads the surface, and tracks every move as it works, so every line lands exactly where you set it. This is TriSense. What you mark is what you cut.

Where precision pays off. Follows the curve.

From curved cups and spheres to uneven surfaces. Height sensing follows every rise and fall to keep the engraving sharp and consistent across the entire surface. Stays accurate on clear materials.

R1 keeps surface measurement accurate even on transparent materials like glass and clear acrylic, so engraving stays precisely placed.

Finds the tiny stuff. The Toolhead Camera pinpoints small objects and places fine detail exactly where you want it.

Traces the line. Cut around a printed design, trim a sticker, or follow a drawn outline. The Toolhead Camera traces the edge and keeps the cut precisely on path.

The motion control that keeps our printers precise. Now in R1.

The same motion control and intelligent algorithms behind Bambu Lab printers now power R1 — bringing faster movement, finer detail, and more precise cuts.

Crisp lines, even after the turn. When the toolhead changes direction, a split-second shake can ripple the line that follows. R1's vibration compensation cancels it out, keeping lines crisp right out of the turn — the same technology as in our 3D printers.

Even tone at 1000mm/s. Higher speeds usually mean shallower engraving. R1 compensates as it moves, keeping engraving depth consistent at up to 1,000 mm/s — while completing the same job nearly 3× as fast.

Stays accurate over time. Mechanical accuracy can drift with use. The Vision Encoder⁵ corrects for it, keeping absolute motion accuracy within 0.1 mm across the full work area. Draw 300 mm. Cut 300 mm.
