PVA/HIPS Dissolving Filament
EL3D® PVA, or Polyvinyl Alcohol, is a biodegradable and soft polymer sensitive to moisture. Placed in water PVA will decompose and dissolve away form your printed model, which makes it an ideal support material for printing PLA.
EL3D® HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) filament is an effective 3D printing material used as a support material when printing with ABS and a dual extruder 3D printer. HIPS is easily dissolved from your model with a Limonene solution leaving behind a quality print.
The use of HIPS as a dissolvable support material for ABS and PETG printing understates HIPS’ reliability as a standalone filament. This copolymer is non-toxic, recyclable, strong and durable.
